Another Year Gone

Wow! Another Year has gone. I can’t believe it. So how far has Get CTRL come? Um… sadly the only big change is well the domain expired and I had to renew it…again.

So do I start talking about how 2012 will be different and I will find balance and time and make it work? Or do I start saying that I will add x amount to the site each day / week? I believe I shall do neither. Rather I will keep posting these notes to remind me how great I’ve succeeded or how bad I’ve failed.

The best time to look at a blog post is far into the future, when your vision can be reflected upon. So for now, all I will do is wish everyone a fantastic new year and hope 2012 bring everyone something amazing!

It’s starting to take shape

So yeah, Sunday night, working on other stuff, but hacking away at the web right now. I’ve confirmed that everything on GetCTRL is now showing as “Stacks” or “Stacked by”. I’m really liking Control Stack as a term. Big thanks to my buddy Mr. Coleman. We sat down and came up with some concepts over Skype. A very productive Skype call if I ever heard one myself.

Just a tiny bit farther

Today was a great day of WIN! I attended Retake The Net Barcamp. In summary (and English): A lot of people who got together and decided what they wanted to discuss re: the flow of Information on the Internet. I don’t know how long this link will stay up, but check it out : Retakethe.net

So where does that leave us with the GetCTRL story? I leaves us with no video or Stacks completed today (awk…ward) but I have done more draft menu layouts. Slow the menus will start to change and we’re going to see GetCTRL taking on shape. Ideally after a few completed Stacks, I can start giving out the address and talking more about it. Today reminded me how frustrating it can be to have an idea and the means to fuel said idea, but not having the idea complete enough to start showing people. Grrrr.

Nearly 20 Days

I’m sorry, what? Nearly 20 days since the last Post here?

It’s insane how the time just flies. So what has been happening with GetCTRL? Well, the Site has changed it’s appearance. Control Stacks were born. Stocked images purchased.
It’s looking good. Now I just need the energy and time to start filming the videos. Anyone wanna help me do it? Pretty please?

Another Start-up

Yes, another Start-Up.

No, not that kind of Start-Up. I received another 12 month Work Visa on the 29^th of September 2011. 12 Months of having a home for sure is a refreshing feeling…again. Yes, this has happened once a year for 9+ years.

The plus side, is for me, in certain I find success and motivation. I’ve started a schedule to arrange to get my GetCTRL mojo back. I’ve moved my equipment to a bigger room, better acoustics, etc… and well the Video Filming will start tomorrow morning for Windows 7 Online Program. My goal is to push out the Online Programs for Windows 7 by the end of the weekend. After I’ve reached that goal we will go for next goal.

Just A Stamp Away

Just a stamp away…
That’s the same as saying so close yet so far.
Most of you know my story / battle with New Zealand Immigration and how it’s affected me and GetCTRL’s progress. I hate to think the two are related but they are.

So here’s the deal. End of May 2011, I submitted my passport and application requesting a renewal of my current work permit. I need this to come through so I can then apply for Perminant Residency and well… freedom. Immigration emailed me saying 45 days. June, July, August… nothing. This week I’m going into the Immigration office to get some answers. This is the first recording of the many obstacles in my way.

It’s a Brand New Day

Amazingly, for the first time in so long, I’m operating with a purpose! In the past few years with all the issues that life has thrown at me, I’ve lost lots of this said purpose. It all comes down to my lock down and fight with New Zealand Immigration. Nearly 10 years this fight has been going on. It has not stopped. I have fought it as much as I could, but enough is enough! My knees will no longer touch my elbows. I hope you’re ready NZi, cause it’s ON!

So with me winning this fight, it means I’m finally able to leave my JOB. That is going to be the best medicine I could possibly have (according to all my friends). It will also open up the door for a whole new world of GetCTRL possibilities. I mean GetCTRL will actually get TLC now and well, it will no longer be something I get around to.
